We had a wonderful stay at the little barn. Inside it is super stylish and very comfortable and the countryside right outside the door is spectacular. It was the most peaceful place I have ever been. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

What an incredible find. An immaculate interior with so many thoughtful and stunning touches. Denby crockery, which is so rare to find in an AirBnb. We were not fortunate enough to have sunshine, but sitting inside in front of the wood burning fire and drinking a glass of wine was wonderful and relaxing. When we are back in the Peak District we will try to stay here again!

Stunning!!!! After a long journey we were so happy to arrive at Harewood Cottage. This has been by far the best air bnb we have stayed in. The cottage has everything you need and more. Julia has thought of everything and the decor is just lovely just what you need after a long drive. You will not be disappointed with Harewood Cottage!!!! The purpose of our visit was Alton Towers which was a perfect location just 20 minutes away. I would highly recommend The Star at Cotton for food a lovely family pub if you are visiting Alton towers it is on the way home. There aren’t any supermarkets local so I would suggest bringing food with you or popping into a supermarket when you see one otherwise a half hour drive. There is a little convenience shop called Manifold Stores where you can grab milk and bread etc but would need to go to a supermarket for dinner supplies. I will definately be coming back to Harewood Cottage it’s just beautiful thankyou so much Julia for a truly amazing stay

Amazing stay! Lovely walking routes (if we had brought proper hiking shoes we would have been able to explore those better) really cozy atmosphere. I would definitely give more stars if I could. We had a little bit of trouble finding the place initially but that's no fault of the host/s. I'd love to come back again some day !

A place you’ll never want to leave, beauty surrounds this place. Easy to get to villages and amenities. Guided foot trails. Gives the feel of being a million miles away. Everything you really want to escape daily, busy life.

Beautiful little barn so peaceful and so beautifully decorated. Out of the way enough to get some rest and feel as though you’re in the middle of nowhere but close enough to some lovely restaurants/pubs and amenities. The little barn had everything we needed and more and some lovely finishing touches by the host. Would highly recommend

Our stay at Little barn was amazing! From the minute we booked the barn Julia was so helpful. When we arrived we were greeted with champagne and chocolates which we weren’t expecting this was such a thoughtful touch to the beginning of our stay. Every room was immaculate and we felt very welcomed. You could tell every little detail was though of with little barn there wasn’t anything we needed that wasn’t there. We will be staying again most definitely we are so happy we have found somewhere to stay on our future visits to the Peak District.

Such a beautiful cottage, with lovely cosy details. Super comfortable to stay even with a baby. Personal touches like fresh eggs and milk with croissants made it so relaxing, after a 3 hour drive it was nice not to have to get back in the car to go out again. Would definitely recommend- even though it rained all weekend it was a cosy relaxing stay! Thanks so much Julia!

The barn was beautiful and in such a gorgeous location with a multitude of walks and only 10 min drive from major towns. Julia was beyond helpful and it allowed for my partner and I to have a great relaxing time. Cannot recommend enough !!!

Beautiful cottage, stunning location! Had a lovely 2 night stay, the cottage had everything you needed and the little extras that were provided were such a lovely touch. Julia checked in to make sure we settled in, which was nice. When we arrived we popped into Wetton Mill Tea Room, and had a small walk through the valleys. Went to Rudyard Lake which was a lovely walk, and stopped half way for tea and cake! We also went on the small walk near the cottage and yes the views were breathtaking. Would highly recommend the Manifold Inn for dinner and the Cottage Kitchen Country Cafe for breakfast, yummy food! Would definitely recommend staying / visiting this area 😁

Wow, what a cute little hideaway. You had me with the champagne and chocs! The little touches and additions were appreciated. I won't say anymore as don't want to spoil it for others. Would deffo recommend to couples who want a romantic get away. Some lovely walks from the barn and lots of recommendations for places to eat/visit. Only thing missing were the lambs in the field!!!

Had a lovely short break at the Harewood Cottage, we spent a day walking to Thor’s Cave and having a lovely lunch at the Black Lion Inn. Brilliant place to come to explore the countryside and everything was perfect at the cottage, nicely decorated and was welcomed to a bottle of wine, chocolates and local eggs.

An extraordinary little haven. Beautifully laid out and designed, but felt very natural. it has all you need and some quirky touches, with odd things you notice in delight as you settle in. Hospitality was evident, with a bottle of wine, duck eggs, croissants and milk waiting. And electric candles on and flickering as we walked in. This place hugs you. As for the area - well, if you don't love rolling hills, glorious landscapes and pretty villages, then why visit Derbyshire? We do love them and had such a happy weekend. Hoping to return soon! x

Little Barn was perfect for a 2 night stay. We would not hesitate to book again and stay for longer. It had all the utilities we needed especially in the kitchen for cooking. We really appreciated the surprises Julia left for us too including the just married sign, champagne, chocolate and croissants. We were left to our own but Julia left her number in case it was needed. It was perfect. The surrounding area was idyllic. We managed to get in at the Black Lion for a delicious roast dinner.

Immaculate modern/sophisticated barn, from the minute we entered we felt so at home. Quirky little windows with beautiful & impressive views especially in the morning time. Very cosy feel, felt so at home, everything you could wish for a romantic weekend away with a lovely bottle of prosecco and chocolate on arrival, thanks Julia! Everything has been thought of, including a well equipped kitchen and lots of personal touches. The local area is so quiet and peaceful. We really enjoyed our time at Harewood Cottage! The cottage was just as cosy as it looks and situated in a peaceful and private location. Julia’s communication was faultless. She gave us clear instructions on how to find the cottage and to check in. It was very straight forward. Julia sent us a message upon arrival to make sure everything was ok which we appreciated. We were welcomed with complimentary prosecco, chocolates and croissants. In the cottage there is an information booklet containing local pubs, walks and other useful information. We booked reservations at The Black Lion Inn, in Butterton for both nights (Wednesdays can get busy for quiz night). It’s less than a 10 minute drive. We would highly recommend it! We also walked to Thors Cave on the full day we had - some challenging hills but worth it! Overall, we loved our time here and would definitely come back again!

Wow - this place exceeded expectations!! Upon entering, we immediately felt at home and couldn't wait to sit infront of the fire and relax!! The Prosecco and chocolate were such a thoughtful touch. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen had everything you need. Situated in the beautiful countryside, I could not fault this air b n b or the host, we cannot wait to come again!!!

We had a wonderful stay at the Little Barn. Julia has made the space so cosy and tranquil. We loved exploring the area and highly recommend climbing Thorpe Cloud and the tea room at Ilam. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals and the living room was so comfy to relax in and watch films in the evening. Julia’s attention to detail didn’t go unnoticed, we loved the candles, soft furnishings and champagne and chocolates - the barn also smelt amazing and was so clean! We will definitely recommend the Little Barn and would love to come back. Thank you Julia!

A fabulous cottage styled to perfection and with everything you need for a cosy stay. Lots of lovely walks nearby- we had snow but will definitely be back when it’s warmer to try them out. Comfortable bed and great shower and Julia was lovely.

Absolutely fantastic get away spot, quiet peaceful and filled with stunning views. If you're debating staying here then dont think just do it! Julia makes sure you are looked after but also gives you peace and privacy. If I could give more than 5 stars then i would. The barn is small but is super cosey, if you stay there once you will want to move into a little barn of your own. Thanks to Julia for providing such a beautiful space, letting us feel so comforable allowing us to enjoy a fantastic few days away.

This Little Barn is breath taking! Surrounded by peace and quiet with beautiful views. You'll feel right at home as soon as you arrive. Lots of helpful information to help you navigate around to go walking or short drives to many places. Definitely recommend staying here. 2 nights just wasn't enough. So much to do I wasn't ready to leave.

This cottage was so beautiful and looked exactly like the pictures. It was clean, with beautiful cosy decor which made us feel right at home. Julia was a very well organised host who responded quickly, accommodated our baby and gave very clear instructions on how to get to the cottage. We really loved our cosy warm evenings in front of the fire and enjoyed our walks in Grindon’s beautiful countryside. All this was a perfect romantic setting which suited our little anniversary get away. We would highly recommend and would love to return in the future!

Wow what a beautiful place . So peaceful and quite just what we wanted away from the busy working life we have . Barn was immaculate and the bed was super comfortable. We definitely go back and visit 100 percent. Lovely walks and 10 minutes walk to the national forest 🌳 . Highly recommend this barn you won’t be disappointed. Added extra the fire pit to light after a walk in the evening.

We absolutely loved the cottage. The decor was modern but also stayed with the cosy cottage theme. The bed was so comfortable. The whole place was immaculate. Julia had left us a bottle of wine, a bar of chocolate, some croissants and some milk in the fridge for a cup of tea. She was really friendly and very responsive when you messaged. We will definitely be booking to stay again.

If you are considering a stay at the Barn, book it! Everything about it was perfect. Immaculately clean and tidy, the interior is beautiful and it had everything we could possibly need for our stay. The champagne, chocolate and croissants were so greatly appreciated, such a lovely touch. There is an excellent guest information book and walking recommendations which was really helpful. It’s a good distance from places such as Bakewell which is well worth a drive out to. Also in walking distance of Thor’s cave (even if you go the wrong way like us!) I really can’t fault it, up there with one of my favourites AirBnB’s for sure!

My Partner and I stayed at Julia’s cottage for a couple of nights and it was just perfect. The most beautiful little country get away with a wood burner which was a welcome sight after a day out walking! Lovely little village and highly recommend the Black Lion Inn for dinner. We had the cosiest and most comfortable stay. The accommodation is beautifully presented and being a regular on Airbnb, I can say that this is one of those that has all the class and attention to detail that makes it stand out from the crowd. Had a wonderful couple of nights here during a crisp, wintery weekend. The cottage is nicely designed and very peaceful - the wood burner was a highlight and the wine, croissants, milk, etc on arrival was a nice touch! The surrounding area is beautiful with lots of nice walks directly from the cottage (highly recommend the walk to Thor's cave). Julia was very friendly and proactive when it came to keeping in touch. We didn't need to contact her because everything was perfect, but we certainly felt we could have done if we'd needed to. Highly recommend.

This was a last minute booking for a quick 2 day getaway and it was a lovely stay. The little cottage is beautiful, cozy and has everything you need. We were very lucky with the weather and did one of Julia's recommended walks which took in Thor's cave. We ate both nights at the Black Lion and had lovely meals each night. I would highly recommend the cottage and wouldn't hesitate to go back

Little Barn is absolutely amazing! We stayed here for our 21st Wedding Anniversary and loved every minute of it. Julia really has thought of everything and Little Barn is so cosy and romantic and the perfect getaway! We had a wonderful stay in the Little Barn, which has been beautifully renovated. The barn is in a great spot, with Thor's Cave easily reachable, and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. The barn was really cosy, with ambient lighting, nice and warm, and it was super clean. We hope to be back.

Imagine a really chic hotel room with everything you could need. Now imagine it in a tiny barn over two floors set in glorious countryside with great views and spectacular walks starting right at the end of the garden. Voila. That’s Julia’s barn. Beautifully restored with some really innovative, funky features - the bedroom floor has two large walkable glass inlay, for example. It’s a really exceptional place to stay.

The kitchen was a great space with plenty of pots and pans provided bonus for having a dishwasher! We visited local restaurants and they were great!

We stayed here for our 25th anniversary. Very cosy & romantic. Everything has been thought of, from the inside space to the outside. Thoughtful touches of milk, croissants, jam and a bottle of champagne! We cooked everything at Little barn, all of the cooking facilities were great. Everything worked as it should. We enjoyed exploring the local area, particularly the walk to Thors Cave which can be done directly from the property. We had a fabulous relaxing time here, book it you won’t be disappointed.

Visited Harewood cottage for a short get away with my wife. We had a lovely stay, the cottage was spotless and the folder that was left explained everything you needed to know for the stay. Ideal location only a stone throw away from some great walks and towns like Leek and Bakewell. Definitely recommend.

Julia is a nice host and welcoming, who responds to you very quickly if you have any queries. The complementary bottle of champagne was a lovely touch as well as a few other things eg fresh eggs, milk and coffee very thoughtful and useful as shops are not as close by as they are if you live in the city. We were very impressed with the whole of the barm especially for its cleanliness a big must for me, as well as bright and tidy also has everything that you need for your stay. The outside area very nice, relaxing and private, beautiful views. Can have a cosy time outside and use of the fire pit. In all was very happy with the stay would definitely recommend to a friend and use little barn again.

We had an incredible stay here. It was easy to find with a clear sign outside the gate. The instructions of how to get in and out of the property were clear and easy to follow. Upon arrival the cottage was set up with the cozy lamps on and a lovely bottle of wine ready for us on the table. The fresh milk and extras in the fridge was a great addition. The cottage itself was stunning, pristine, cozy and a perfect place for couples to relax and enjoy each others company. The location is perfect for people who like walking, a short hike to Thor’s cave in the morning was a great activity. Julia provided every piece of information beforehand, so much so that I didn’t need to ask any questions as every single thing I could possibly want to know was covered. This was our first holiday as a couple and it was so lovely. I would 100% recommend this cottage and Julia as a host to anyone wanting to visit the Peaks. Couldn’t be happier with this stay.

My boyfriend and I have just returned from a three night stay at the Little Field Barn and it is everything we'd hoped it'd be! It was the perfect base for us to explore local attractions such as Matlock for the Heights of Abraham, Bakewell, Lud's Church and Thor's Cave. The barn itself is very welcoming and the perfect, cosy size for two people - very romantic. The surrounding area was very quiet apart from the odd donkey or duck letting you know they were there, and we even had a domestic rabbit visit us for hours in the garden which Julia confirmed had appeared one afternoon months ago - (we did pick him up a carrot that he enjoyed!). Julia has thought of everything you might need for your visit, and was kind enough to leave us with a few welcome bits to get us started, including some champagne and personalised chocolate to start off the visit! We also took her recommendation in the guide book of visiting the Black Lion pub for dinner, only a 5 minute drive, and enjoyed our meal.

I booked the cottage as a surprise for my partner’s 30th birthday and it couldn’t have been more special. The cottage itself is beautiful and and so cosy, situated in a peaceful and picturesque village. We really appreciated the little personal touches like a bottle of wines, chocolate bar and fresh eggs. We couldn’t believe the stunning views everywhere you went. We travelled around a bit during our stay, visiting Ashbourne, Buxton, Bakewell, etc and thought this was a great location to stay in the Peak District when you have access to a car. Thor’s Cave and Manifold Valley was just around the corner and is a fantastic walk with beautiful scenery. Our favourite pub was the Black Lion Inn for dinner which was just a short drive/ or walkable and the food was hearty and delicious. Despite the weather we managed to have a brilliant trip away so we would highly recommend Julia’s place.

Place was absolutely perfect - felt just like a home from home. I couldn’t recommend Julia and her cottage more. Julia doesn’t intrude but is always on the other end of the phone when needed. The guest book is full of information on walks and food nearby and couldn’t have been more helpful. A lot of people looking for a place probably brush past reviews, but please read this as if you’re looking for somewhere to stay, this is it!! You’ll know just how much a great place and host can mean to a much needed holiday and can make or break your trip. Self employed, we only get a handful of days off each year, but this was our 20th wedding anniversary and hiking was what we wanted to do, so finding a place that we literally could collapse into comfortably at the end of a 6 hour hike each day was really important. This house ticked EVERY box and blew us away. It was spotless, well spaced areas, high end, stylish decor and details. From the furniture to the toiletries, to the custom chocolate bar, you can feel just how precious this house is to Julia as is her care towards her guests staying here. We miss it already, thank you for making our anniversary break truly unforgettable

Little Barn was a lovely place to stay. It was clean and very cosy. There were some nice touches such as Champagne and chocolate on arrival as well as milk, eggs and croissants in the fridge. We didnt get a chance to try out the fire pit but marshmallows were also provided - I imagine it’s lovely to sit outside when the weather is a bit warmer. It is a great base to explore from and would recommend to anyone. Julia was very helpful and quick to reply to messages if needed.

Perfect perfect perfect!! We stayed here for 2 nights as a late birthday/valentines get away and we couldn’t have picked a more perfect place to stay. The whole place was spotless and the surrounding area was beautiful. We went for a walk around the local area, drove 45 mins to Lumsdale Falls then visited Peak Wildlife Park on our last day. The barn has beautiful features and the log fire made the place feel very cosy. Our favourite part was the old suitcase which had retro games inside. The barn is beautifully decorated to a high standard and we can’t wait to book to stay here again later in the year!

Very romantic and private get away. We spent a few nights here in the cold of December and we were greeted to very nice frosty scenery yet remained toasty warm inside this quaint little barn. Very helpful instructions and situated perfectly to allow you to get to most of the touristy areas in the Peak District within about 30 minutes. Worth the extra drive for a really high quality barn conversion. Personal touches of champagne and chocolate on arrival as well as a “just married” sign we also a very nice touch! Would absolutely recommend staying here to anyone!

Amazing place to stay! Gorgeous exposed beams with modern fittings - We loved the log burner too! Lots of info was left at the property with local walks and pubs etc. We tried a local pub and cafe and both were superb (both in the info books left in the cottage). This is the best Airbnb we stayed in. Julia made our stay very special with the welcome pack we found on arrival. The house smelled lovely in every room and was super clean. We also loved the little little extras like the Bluetooth speaker, the smart tv and the lovely electric fire place. Harewood cottage surpassed all our expectations on our first visit (being our favourite Airbnb we have stayed in) so we paid a return visit. The cottage is beautifully furnished and in a glorious setting, with many interesting and varied walking routes in the locality. Julia’s thoughtful preparations and excellent communications were very much appreciated as usual. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2nd stay and would highly recommend.

This barn is perfect. I can't think of anything negative to say about it. Everything we needed for a relaxing stay was provided. Its clean, very quiet and very cosy. Perfect location to get away from it all in fact we could happily move in to live there. Was a little bit hard to find despite directions as the area is mainly single track roads and few signs but once there we couldn't have been happier. We ate at a local pub " Black lion Inn" and the food was excellent probably the best pub grub we've had. Please note Mobile data and telephone signal is very weak in the area but cottage does have wi-fi. We would love to stay again.

Lovely cosy barn, great outdood space, yes it is small but great for a couple who want to recluse away from thd crowds. Lovely welcome touches, julie is on hand if needed but doesn't intrude. Plenty of walks from the door, didnt use the car in 9 days. Though transport is needed if wsnting to eat out. Spotlessly clean, well thought out for the space available. Would recommend. 5 star stay.

We enjoyed a lovely, romantic weekend at Little Barn and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Little Barn is set in a meadow with spectucular scenery and surrounding wildlife. Little Barn itself is beautifully decorated inside and was a home-away-from-home. Everything felt clean and welcoming. I loved how the hosts have decorated with their own photos and infused it with class. Plenty of firewood and lighters for you to enjoy in the evenings. We were treated to a few lovely welcome gifts to tuck in to and toast our stay. Thanks to our hosts, we were able to use their lovely walking guide to explore Thor's Cave and then for a pint at the Black Lion in Butterton. Julia was very responsive to messages - a cute cat followed us out the village and we were concerned that it was lost! The cat turns out to be locally famous for following walkers a fair way! I was relieved that Julia got in touch quickly to reassure us everything was fine. Well worth a trip, I've already reccomended to my friends and family! I think we'll definately be back for future trips!

Our stay at Little Barn was outstanding. We want to go back already!! Little Barn is absolutely stunning and it's set in the most beautiful place. The Barn itself has been finished to a very professional and modern standard, with everything you need for a comfortable self catered stay. It's description of a romantic contemporary getaway couldn't be more accurate. When we arrived the Barn was spotless, so so clean, and Julia has gone to the extra effort to place gorgeous smelling air fresheners around the place which was lovely. All of the linen and towels etc were also spotless and smelled divine. The little extra touches, such as champagne on arrival, breakfast bits in the fridge, and complementary socks, were excellent and made our stay even more special. There are other little touches that we loved too but we won't spoil the surprise here! The communication from Julia before and during was great and she has clearly gone to huge efforts to make Little Barn an extra special place to stay. She is also clearly being very careful when it comes to Covid and we felt very safe staying at Little Barn in that respect. There are some stunning walks from Little Barn and in the surrounding area. We did a walk recommended by Julia, which was fantastic. Overall we had a fantastic stay and couldn't recommend Little Barn enough. After being cooped up working from home in a flat in London since March, we feel revitalised after our lovely stay at Little Barn. It was very good for the soul!

Lovely cosy cottage. Beautiful location with amazing scenery just a short walk away. The cottage was decorated to a high standard and very clean. Julia added some very thoughtful touches.

The cottage was very well kept and tidy in a lovely location. There were nice touches (chocolate and wine!), easy check in and check out. Can't fault our stay!

Lovely cosy cottage with beautiful log fire. Perfect couples retreat with all the mod cons, would definitely recommend.

This cottage is beautifully located in the southern Peaks with lots of lovely walks on the door step. It is finished to an incredible standard with a lovely wood stove and lots of great touches around the place. Julia was very communicative and left a bottle of wine and some chocolates as well as all the usual staple! We will definitely be back next time we come to the Peaks!
